  In spite of my American medical boards, a PhD and a D.Psy, post-doctoral work in psychopharmacology and years in practice, as a new resident of the area I brought outstanding scripts to Paul's pharmacy and ran into a serious challenge. While I made sure that Paul, the owner, was made aware of my two scripts and the sensitive history thereof before I arrived at the pharmacy, the very personal information I provided did not trickle down to his top notch pharmacists as I had assumed it would. As a result, a problem with serious ramifications ensued (for me) right before a weekend when the vast majority of physicians are incommunicado. My well-being was on the line and I was in a strange, new part of North America. Now, the positive point of this calamitous situation: In spite of the difficult nature of the problem, one that could have been avoided with clear commination between "the boss" (Paul, a smart, good man) and his fine professional staff, the pharmacists addressed the complex matter well. Julie in particular, handled the situation as best as was professionally possible and with what I suspected at the time, with respect and empathy.. One does not per se, look forward to returning to the scene - but I will. As a lecturer on the critical role of the pharmacist in the medical/treatment model (IE. pharmacists shouldn't have to spend a large part of their day doing retail sales and know much more about medicines and pharmaceuticals in general than do physicians). They are also educators within the pharmacy and can provide invaluable support to and for patients. In closing, this pharmacy is one where you will receive individual attention and a professional approach to problem-solving.
