- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Took my 19 yr. old cat there for check up as he wasn't eating well and my own vet was booked solid. I wanted to check this new vet out anyway & possibly switch my 2 dogs & 2 cats there. They did blood work and I went for a follow up the following week. The vet said with his issues he needs medication. I said what issues and the vet said oh, he has kidney disease...didn't anyone call with the results? No, no one called with results. The vet wanted me to leave my cat with them for two days on I.V. medication at a cost of $1200. I went back to my own vet, he said the I.V. meds the other vet wanted to do wouldn't have helped at all. There is no cure for kidney disease and my cat is 19! So with a special kidney diet and some fluids, my cat is holding his own and doing pretty well. Very disappointed in Ottawa Barrhaven Animal Hospital.by SANDI ARMSTRONGDecember 13, 2016
