  Today I was offered "insurance" insurance. Belair let me know that I am eligible to purchase insurance that will cover me in the event that I use my insurance. Does this not seem ridiculous to anyone else? In other words, if I have a not-at-fault claim (home insurance), my rates will go up unless I buy this other insurance product to protect my current insurance rates. So, yeah, insurance insurance. Will they also soon be selling insurance insurance for your insurance? How about some insurance insurance for your insurance insurance? I feel like I am falling deeper into the folds of a cash-grab-middle-class-destroyer scheme. It's the "Inception" of the insurance world. To add insult to injury, they had the nerve to tell me that home insurance is a choice! I wish they would tell my bank. According to my bank, I MUST have home insurance because I have a mortgage (like the vast majority of people in Canada). So much for a choice. When will people wake up and take a stand against insurance companies? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH people. Stand up to your insurance company and stop letting them take advantage of you! The more that resist, the better our chances. All this because I called to inform them that I was having a 24/7 alarm with video monitoring system installed on my house. That, by the way, reduced by $1040/year (10+ years claim-free, I've never made a claim since I have had house insurance) policy by a whole dollar. An ENTIRE DOLLAR!!! Bunch of crooks. Belair, if you read this and you think any of this information is incorrect, please call me. You know my number. I certainly will amend my review if I find that I am wrong, but I doubt I am.
